Rush win battle of I-82

The Rush went on the road to take on the Yakima Canines in the second game of their three game series. The round 2 battle was similar to the first with the Rush pulling out the win 82-12.

After a scoreless first quarter the Rush caught steam and didn't look back. Quarterback Les Obie pierced the sky's dropping dimes all over the field leading to 7 touchdowns. Receivers Day Day Salgado Jr and Manuel Flores both caught two touchdowns and hybrid WR/RB Antionne wafer caught 3 touchdowns and put in another on the ground. 

The rush defense not to be outdone finished the game with 4 interceptions including two from linebacker AJ Smiley and 2 from defensive back Tyler Merkel one of which was returned for a touchdown. The defensive line forced several fumbles including 2 on sacks from Dallon Grinder and Noke Tago. Tyler Maus filling in for an injured Marcellus Pippins was all over the field recording 9 total tackles 2 forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

Special teams added another touchdown on a 52 yard kick return to open the second half by defensive back Tyler Merkel. 

The Rush will continue there away game stretch this weekend when they face the Oregon High Desert storm in Redmond Oregon Saturday at 7 pm.
